Life is a dream, realize it. Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
My watch has begun. I have big shoes to fill both literally and figuratively from those who have gone before me. Team members are crucial to any successful leader, and I am fortunate to be joined by an incredibly talented Board. We have exciting events planned for 2010. Once again, you can expect an interesting mix of cruising and sailing adventures, training that will help us to be our best when on the water, and social events that will provide opportunities for many fun Yacht Club activities.
Henry Van Dyke once said that "we keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths. The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing." This year will be history making for the Club and for me as your leader as we experiment with our new Port Ludlow Yacht Club Wreck Room. It embodies all of the things I aspire to this year: realizing dreams, meeting challenges, and living adventures. My challenge to you: help this adventure along by volunteering your time so our dream has a fair chance to become a reality.
