PLYC History
On a cold winter afternoon in 1972 with snow covering the boats in the moorage, a group of local skippers were warming themselves in the marina store. Conversation centered on the lack of social activity in Port Ludlow during the winter months. Those present also wanted to do something to enhance the sense of camaraderie during the summer boating season. Thereupon the Port Ludlow Yacht Club was created. Roland Calkins was elected to be the first commodore.
