Summer's in full swing and so are PLYC cruisers. Head out with us to the beautiful San Juan Islands on the Slow Boat Cruise!

Date:     July 22-29

Cruise Directors:   Linnea McNair
    Marilynne Gates
    Elizabeth Von Zonneveld

Registration:   Deadline July 1

Please call Friday Harbor and Deer Harbor Marinas right away to reserve your slip. July is a busy month!

Thursday, July 22: Port Ludlow to Mackay Harbor on Lopez Island (40nm). Anchor one night and raft up to other boats. Cocktails and appetizers at 5 p.m. For those who do not wish to anchor, Friday Harbor is not too much further.

Friday, July 23: Mackay Harbor to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island (12.3nm). Call Friday Harbor at 360-378-2688 to reserve your slip. Ask for Jeremy or Tammy and let them know you are with PLYC (it’s under Linnea McNair and dock as near to the G-8 barge as possible). Gather at 5 p.m. at our reserved picnic shelter for cocktails and appetizers. Dinner on your own.

Saturday, July 24 and Sunday, July 25: Reid Harbor on Stuart Island (14nm). Anchor, buoy, or tie up to the floating dock (raft up to another boat). Saturday is a free day for hiking to the school or lighthouse, fishing, sailing, or gunkholing in your dinghy. Late afternoon, take the short trail leading to Prevost Harbor where we will have a weenie roast on shore. Hot dogs, buns and S’More makings will be provided by PLYC. Cruisers will bring a side dish to go with hot dogs.

Sunday, Marilynne Gates and Elizabeth Van Zonneveld will teach basic beading techniques or do more hiking, fishing, sailing, gunkholing, or relaxing.  Dinner on your own.

Monday, July 26 and Tuesday, July 27: Deer Harbor on Orcas Island (10nm). Call Mark Broman at 360-376-3037 for reservations. Dock or anchor out. Monday night dinner at the Deer Harbor Inn. It is an easy half-mile walk or a ride can be requested from the restaurant.

Tuesday morning pot-luck brunch on the dock at 10:30 a.m. Bring a hearty breakfast dish to share. After brunch, a safety class will be held featuring a Life Sling demonstration in the bay. Dinner on your own. There are BBQs and a large tent area we can use. Later, bring a favorite game such as Mexican Train, Scrabble, Apples to Apples, or cards to play on a host boat.

Wednesday, July 28: Leave Deer Harbor and anchor at Hunter Bay on Lopez Island (14nm). Low tide is at 11 a.m.

Thursday, July 29: Return home to Port Ludlow with an optimum departure time at 9 a.m. (42nm).

All distances are approximate.
