June Cruise: The Mystery Cruise

When the June cruise heads out, summer has almost arrived. Enjoy cruising in the warmer days and longer evenings June brings.

Date:     June 8-15

Cruise Directors:   Sherry Robinson & Steve Shanklin
    Diane & Jerry Purdy
    Suzanne & Jim Milner
    Jan & Bob Quick

Registration:   To Be Announced

The June Mystery Cruise will be a new experience for PLYC cruisers. The cruise directors have planned a fun learning experience. Each morning cruisers will get the latitude and longitude of and the distance to that day's destination. Cruisers will also get the latitude and longitude of any important points along the route, the distance to them and the suggested times to be at these points.

The directors hope that once given the latitude and longitude cruisers will plot courses to each destination on paper charts taking into account the important points and any significant aids to navigation along the route. Cruisers will also need to calculate the distances involved and the time it takes to reach important points in order to be there at the appropriate time.

The cruise packets, which will be provided before the cruise, contain information on planned events, appetizer assignments, and other informative details for each destination. Be assured that cruisers will receive all the information needed to make a safe passage to each day's destination. Even though it’s a mystery cruise, it's not going into any scary places!
