The May Commodores' Cruise, eh!

The May cruise heads out right after PLYC's Opening Day. Welcome the promise of summer with this delightful cruise highlighting Vancouver hosted by Commodore Peggy Kulm, Vice Commodore Mike Platt, and Rear Commodore Harold Brunstad.

Sunday, May 9, Friday Harbor, San Juan Island, WA
Cruise 44 km to the Port of Friday Harbor as a jump off point for our trek north. Enjoy the day roaming the town. Meet at 5 p.m. for appetizers and BYOB cocktails on the party barge. Briefing for trip to Otter Bay by the vice commodore and the beginning of the Nautical Olympics. The rest of your evening is free.

Monday, May 10, Otter Bay, Pender Island, BC
Cruise 21 km to Otter Bay. For those clearing customs, we recommend Bedwell Harbour.  Start the evening with appetizers, BYOB cocktails, and a book exchange under the pavilion. Then, get ready for a terrific international dinner by the local chef with dessert provided by your cruise directors. Briefing for trip to Coal Harbour by the rear commodore, Vancouver orientation by Sheila Brunstad, and the second day of the Nautical Olympics.

 

Tuesday, May 11, Coal Harbour, Vancouver, BC
Cruise 42 km to Coal Harbour. A rest day from the Nautical Olympics and formal activities.

 

Wednesday, May 12, Coal Harbour, Vancouver, BC                                     

Relax and have a good time with much to see at this great city. Meet at 5 p.m. for appetizers provided by your cruise directors and BYOB cocktails. Briefing for trip to Bowen Island by the rear commodore. Participate in the final day of the Nautical Olympics.

 

Thursday, May 13, Bowen Island, Union Steamship Marina, BC
Cruise 10 km to Union Steamship Marina. Meet at 5 p.m. for appetizers on the dock and BYOB cocktails. Briefing for trip to Blaine Marina by the vice commodore. Attend the Medal Ceremony for the Nautical Olympics. Then join your cruise mates for a no-host dinner at the Bowen Island Pub.

 

Friday, May 14, Blaine Marina, WA
Cruise 44 km to Blaine. Meet at 5 p.m. for appetizers on the dock and BYOB cocktails. Briefing for trip to Cap Sante by the vice commodore.

 

Saturday, May 15, Cap Sante Marina, Anacortes, WA
Cruise 35 km to Cap Sante. Meet at 5 p.m. for appetizers on the dock and BYOB cocktails. We are just in time for the Waterfront Festival. Stroll the docks admiring and touring new/used boats for sale, browse waterfront vendors' booths of arts/crafts and foods, wander through classic car shows, watch kayak competitions, and enjoy live musical entertainment, all free at the 21st Anacortes Waterfront Festival.

 

Sunday, May 16, Cap Sante Marina, Anacortes, WA
Meet at 5 p.m. for pot luck appetizers on the dock, a great chance to use up your remaining provisions, and BYOB cocktails.

 

Monday, May 17, Head Home to Port Ludlow
Cruise 42 km to Port Ludlow. May the seas be calm and the winds be at your back all the way home!
